Since the dawn of the new millennium New Zealand has begun to wake up to the power of design, influenced mainly by the government white paper on innovation, some Better by Design initiatives and some research grants.
The Hothouse project aims to harness this awakening and to bring innovation and new ideas to the needs of the SME (Small to Medium size enterprises) aspect of the New Zealand economy.
The vision is for the Hothouse to be a place where people from big companies, start-ups, schools, nonprofits, government, and anyone else who realizes the power of design thinking, can join in on our multidisciplinary teaching, prototyping, and research workshops.
